Abstract

The representation of a finite 2-dimensional projective geometry with seven points PG(2,2) as a Fano plane is not didactically suitable for the introduction of Cartesian coordinates. A model based on a truncated cube in which straight lines are represented by triangles is proposed. This hexagonal approach also facilitates the transition to an associated Cartesian affine plane with four points.
