Abstract

The didactically reflected use of digital media and the promotion of digital education in mathematics lessons is an essential factor for a successful educational offensive for the digital knowledge society, including in school lessons that are characterized by subject-specific learning. From the perspective of GDM and mathematics didactics, reflection should include those aspects that are essential for the development of mathematical skills using digital media. At a symposium on digitalization held by the GDM in March 2021, subject-related aspects of digital tools in mathematics learning were discussed alongside media didactic issues, such as what an adequate contribution mathematics can make to general media education. Conversely, questions regarding the implementation of the KMK competency framework, which is relevant for all subjects, must be considered for effective mathematical education. The findings from the symposium are summarized in the strategy paper.
